it's friday!
I just realized that when you read this you are probably finishing up thursday or your friday is just beginning. isn't that funny that i am finishing my friday already? so if you want to know what it's like to go into the future, just ask me. i'm there! :)
everyday, julie and i ask each other what day in april it is or what day of the week it is. her sister's bday was yesterday so it was important to know. i usually tell her i dont' know. we have no clue. we have no frame of reference for time here. trust me, this is a very different world for us. i'm liking it and going to cherish each second before we hit the ground running in residency starting this june. you know, there are some things we want to incorporate into our lives from being here in thailand, though. for instance, i'm kind of already used to this with my mom and dad, but i'd love to continue it... to take off your shoes before going into homes. it's so respectful and comfortable. oh, i have to tell you though, b/c of this tradition, we had a patient today with plantar fasciitis b/c of going barefoot on cement floors. so, the docs tell them to go against tradition and wear house shoes with support. i wonder if they really do it? also, it's so important for us to be sure to wei others before they wei us. that means, we have to put our hands in the praying position and say "sawadeekah" first. so, i'm not saying we should wei, but always be willing to acknowledge others before ourselves. isn't that awesome? okay, i'll be back for more. julie just came in and would LOVE to blog.
