wed sports & prayer meeting

after our leisurely day, anna asked me if i was up for playing volleyball or tennis with her. we opted for tennis. it was great. i haven't played in so long. we had a great share time as we played tennis. for a 12 year old, she has an incredible testimony or life story. i was so blessed by it. she asked me some of mine, so i shared with her too as we were chasing the ball more than hitting it back and forth. :) then, jerry came out and rounded everyone up for a softball game. again, i haven't played in forever it feels like. it's pretty sad, when they had to teach me exactly how to hold the bat. hey, i hit the ball. it may have been a grounder but i at least made it to first base.
we had to quit our game early due to very unfortunate circumstances. Dr. tom actually tore his hamstring in the game. he said he had torn it in the past and it has just never been the same. i felt so bad for him. he was in so much pain. amy and i were okay that the game was over. we bonded by the fact that we enjoy watching more than playing. we all had dinner together after the game and then headed over to the clinic at 7:30pm for a weekly prayer meeting.
the prayer meeting- it was awesome, the thai girls who work in the clinic lead the meeting with praise and worship in thai and then read scripture in thai and then we pray. we each prayed for specific needs in their community and then for our personal requests. everyone is assigned to pray for something and then all together like a musical chorus with every tribe and every nation it seemed like, we all prayed out loud in our own voices lifted up as one chorus to the Lord. i was in awe at his omnipotence and how he can discern each voice and knows when each one of us sits or rises or knows the innermost thoughts of each and every one of us even when we all speak at the same time. what a great God we serve. one special thing for me was that i lifted up my friend jana from back in austin who has encephalitis. i thought about how special it was for me when i was in the hospital 10 years ago having brain surgery that missionaries around the world were literally praying for me. i wanted jana to have that same honor. so we prayed for her in thailand. wow.

then it was off to bed to get ready for a new day that would be sweeter than the day before.
